A Wild Adventure and a Splash of Fun!
By Lumen Cristy Ihong

On May 7, 2026, the kindergarten through second grade students embarked on their annual field trip to the Rosenbruch World Wildlife Museum in St. George, Utah. The day was filled with hands-on learning, exploration, and plenty of laughter as students experienced wildlife education beyond the classroom walls.

During their visit to the museum, students had the opportunity to observe hundreds of preserved wild animals from around the world. They learned about the animals’ natural habitats, diets, survival adaptations, and unique characteristics through engaging exhibits and informative presentations. Seeing these incredible animals up close sparked curiosity and encouraged students to ask thoughtful questions as they connected what they have been learning in
science.

After touring the museum, the students enjoyed an educational wildlife movie that reinforced many of the concepts they had learned throughout the morning.

The adventure continued at Thunder Junction All Abilities Park, where students gathered for lunch before spending the afternoon exploring the park’s many attractions. Teachers made sure every child had the opportunity to ride the miniature train and enjoy the inclusive playground, creating lasting memories with their classmates.

With temperatures soaring that afternoon, the splash pad quickly became everyone’s favorite destination. Before boarding the bus to return to school, every student had cooled off in the water, leaving the park with soaking wet clothes, bright smiles, and unforgettable memories.

“This is one of the best days ever,” exclaimed first grader Santania as the students wrapped up their exciting adventure.

The annual field trip provided students with the perfect balance of education and recreation, reminding us that some of the most meaningful learning experiences happen beyond the classroom. It was truly a day filled with discovery, friendship, and fun that our students will remember for years to come.
