Spelling Bee

January 24, 2017

The Fredonia-Moccasin School District spelling bee will be held Monday, Jan 30, 2017 at 5:30 PM in the Elementary School gym. The two best spellers from third to eighth grade will compete to see who will represent the district at the county spelling bee in Flagstaff. Come and cheer on the students who have worked hard learning to spell.


Senior Recgonition

January 24, 2017

Senior Recognition for all the Senior basketball players will take place this Saturday, Jan 28, 2017 between the girls and boys varisty games. The girls varsity game is scheduled to start at 4:00 PM. The first game of the day will be the girls JV game which starts at 1 PM. Please come and enjoy a day of basketball and honoring those Seniors who have given so much to their teams.


Football State Championship Anniversary

November 03, 2016

This year is the 25th anniversary of the 1991 football championship for Fredonia High School. The AIA will honor the coaches and players at halftime of this years 1A championship game that is being held at Maricopa High School. The game will be held on Nov 12 at 6 PM. We need help in getting the word out. If anyone knows how to contact any of the players, please do so and let them know about this event.

Girl's Volleyball Going To State!

November 01, 2016

The girl's volleyball team is heading to the state volleyball tournament in Phoenix. The first round game against St. Michael will be held 3 PM Friday at North High School (1101 E. Thomas Rd, Phoenix). The team will be taking a bus, and so family or community members can ride with the team, depending on space. Please stop by the high school office for the rules on riding the bus, and to sign the permission slip.

Way to go, girls. Go luck at State!


Student Success Conferences

Dear Parents/Guardians:

This year student success conferences will be held for all secondary students. We will be holding the conferences Wednesday, October 19 and Thursday, October 20 from 3:30 PM until 6:30 PM. All students will be released at 2 PM on both of these days.

These conferences are student centered, so please make sure your student accompanies you. During this conference students will be discussing their classes, setting goals for the rest of the year, and with your help, developing a plan to achieve the goals. Please come to this conference prepared to listen, acknowledge your child's effort and growth, and ask questions of your child. Report cards will be available for pick up during these conferences.

The conferences will be held in the FHS gym in an open house type format. Each teacher will have an assigned table, and will have the conferences as parents and students come to their tables. To ease the wait times, we have suggested different time blocks for different groups of students. The schedule is as follows:

Because of the volleyball team leaving on Thursday, players and their parents can come anytime on Wednesday. If you are unable to come on either date, please call the school and set up another time to meet with the teachers.

Fredonia High School is accredited through AdvancED (http://www.advanc-ed.org). Every few years we go through the accreditation process. It is time to do so again. Part of the process is to gather as much information about our school as possible. Homecoming Week

Homecoming Week in Full Swing

Homecoming week is going on right now. Peach Fuzz volleyball will be Sep 7 at 1:10 PM in the high school gym. The Powder Puff  football game will be Sep 8 at 2:15 PM on Griff's Field. 

Due to volleyball games on Friday, Sep 9, and Saturday, Sep 10, the parade and bonfire have been moved to Thursday night. The parade will start at 5 PM, the Homecoming dinner will be at 6 PM (See a member of the Senior class, or a member of the band for tickets), and the bonfire will be at dusk at Red Hills. 

Friday at 11 AM will be a send off for the volleyball team traveling to play at Greyhills Academy in Tuba City. 

Saturday morning will see the JV volleyball team participating in a tournament at Valley High School in Orderville. 

The football game against Joseph City will start at 3 PM, and the volleyball game against Water Canyon will start at 6 PM.

Come join us for all the fun and activities.


End of Year Activities

End of School Activities

The end of another school year is fast approaching. Here is a summary of the end of year activities:

  • May 11 is the Sports Banquet at 6 PM in the elementary gym
  • May 12 is the Band Concert at 7 PM in the high school gym
  • May 15 thru May 19 is the Senior Trip
  • May 23 is the Middle School Passing Party to Fiesta Fun Center
  • May 26 - Last Day of School:
    • 8:15 AM - Awards Assembly in HS gym
    • 10:00 AM - Students in park for Battle Balls
    • 12:00 Noon - Lunch served in Quad
    • 2 PM - Dismissal
    • 5 PM - 8th Grade Promotion in HS gym
    • 7 PM - Graduation in HS gym

Parents and family are invited to join us in any and all of the activities. Thank you for helping us help your students Finish Strong.


AzMERIT Testing

March 31, 2016

Dear Parents;

It is time again for the AzMERIT test. This is the test that has replaced the AIMS test in Arizona. It will be given to all 3rd through 8th grade students, as well as those high school students enrolled in Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, English 9, English 10, English 11 and Juniors in Creative Writing.

The testing dates that we will be testing the elementary students will be as follows:

·         3rd grade - April 4, 11, 18 (the next three Mondays)

·         4th grade - April 5, 12, 19 (the next three Tuesdays)

·         5th grade - April 6, 13, 20 (the next three Wednesdays)

·         6th grade - April 7, 14, 21 (the next three Thursdays)

AzMERIT Parent Night

November 17, 2015

The Fredonia-Moccasin Unified School District will be hosting a Parent Night to discuss the scores for the AzMERIT, Arizona's new student assessment that replaced the AIMS test last spring.

We will cover the differences of the tests, as well as how to read the student result papers. We will also hand out to the parents their childerns results.

The Parent Night will be held Wednesday, November 18, at 6 PM in the school Media Center.
